AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, has dismissed recent claims that new negotiations are planned between Tehran and Washington, calling such assertions unfounded.
Speaking after a meeting with the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission on Sunday, Takht-Ravanchi reiterated that no plans exist for fresh talks with the US.
He emphasized that no arrangements or discussions have been made, and insisted that the statements by US officials are baseless.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions following what Tehran describes as a 12-day war of aggression launched by Israel on June 13, targeting Iranian military, nuclear, and residential zones.
On June 22, the United States also entered the conflict by carrying out military strikes on Iran’s key nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.
Iran responded immediately, with the IRGC Aerospace Force launching 22 waves of missile attacks against Israeli-occupied areas under Operation True Promise III, reportedly causing significant damage.
As retaliation for the US strikes, Iran’s military also targeted the al-Udeid air base in Qatar, a major US military installation in the region.
Hostilities ceased following a June 24 ceasefire, which has brought the immediate fighting to an end.
